Day 2 brought on the infamous "flutes". Starting at mile 17 through 21 the river runs over flute like rock that goes from a few feet to a few inches. You can walk 30 feet in one of the flutes, then suddenly...shallow. Pick up and drag over to the next. Fortunately the water was up and we finished these in a few hours instead of days like so many before had to do.
The last month has been a blur. Trying to get everything ready for our Pecos River trip, along with my wife's birthday and Father's day. The trip itself somewhat consumed most my time. It sure was a ton of work for 5 days. In hindsight, i'm glad we planned as hard as we did.
