Of course the fishing was awesome. I brought my fly rod but didn't use it that much. I only caught a couple on it. The fish just kept biting. It was amazing to have this many bass on just one outing. Usually the perch bite like this and you have to work a lot harder for the bass. Well over 20 in just a few hours.
Of course there were tons of small ones as well, but they were a blast all the same. Even the weeee little ones.
I wasn't able to go as far as I had planned because of a slight roadblock.
I thought about going around, but that was going to be a chore. I also had just drug my yak up and over a dam, so I wasn't really feeling the love of detours at the moment. So I paddled down to where the river turns on the other side of about 50 yards of land. I quietly walked across the land bar and got to the river.
Another thing that surprised me was the amount of corpses in the water. I counted 3 deer, wasn't really surprised at that, hunting season brings out all types of hunters and 7 goat floaters. Whoa....Goat Floater...didn't they open up for Limp Biskit at the Roxy in '95? Anyway, there was a few nice wiffs of foul odors drifting through the river at different times. Of course the buzzards were having an early Thanksgiving before their journey South for the winter. Yum, Cabrito Suprise, wet and juicy, come and get it. I just threw up in my mouth.
Here were a few extras....
